Pennine walks around the hills of Holmfirth were a firm fixture in my childhood and now gladly, in my adult life with my own family. You can’t go for a walk in this area without encountering sheep, dry stone walls and wind-shaped trees. This print is inspired by those walks.
The silhouette is created from an old map of Holmfirth and the surrounding areas with a dark blue background. Includes Holmfirth, Holme, Upperthong, Hepworth, Netherthong, Honley and Meltham. Also north of Huddersfield towards Mirfield.
A perfect size for a small space or to sit alongside other artwork.
